Weekend Hide Tanning Event

Join us for our first two-day Hide Tanning Event, where we will go through the process from start to finish in a hands-on way learning all the steps and covering everything you need to know to get you started in your hide tanning journey!

The tentative schedule for the weekend is as follows:

Day 1: Introduction to Hide Tanning

Morning Session: 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM

1. Welcome and Introduction (9:00 AM - 9:30 AM)

2. Understanding Animal Hides (9:30 AM - 10:30 AM)

3. Safety and Tools (10:30 AM - 11:00 AM)

4. Break (11:00 AM - 11:15 AM)

5. Skinning and Preparing Hides (11:15 AM - 12:00 PM)

Lunch Break: 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM

Afternoon Session: 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM

6. Tanning Methods Overview (1:00 PM - 2:00 PM)

7. Hands-on Tanning (2:00 PM - 4:00 PM)

8. Q&A and Discussion (4:00 PM - 5:00 PM)

Day 2: Advanced Techniques and Finishing

Morning Session: 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM

1. Review of Day 1 (9:00 AM - 9:30 AM)

2. Advanced Tanning      Techniques (9:30 AM - 11:00 AM)

3. Break (11:00 AM - 11:15 AM)

4. Continue hands-on Tanning (11:15 AM – 12:00 PM)

Lunch Break: 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM

Afternoon Session: 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM

 

5. Hands-on Drying/dying/smoking and Finishing (1:00 PM - 3:00 PM) 

6. Group Discussion and Troubleshooting (3:00 PM - 4:00 PM)

7. Conclusion and Certificates (4:00 PM - 4:30 PM)

Please Note: Participants are required to bring a packed lunch, wear clothes suitable for hands-on activities, and bring comfortable gloves.
